General Position Description:
Reporting to the Manager - DSD Productivity, as part of the national DSD Productivity Team, this person must possess the practical knowledge and skills necessary for national DSD route planning operations, including continuous improvement of the distribution system through improved route design and service frequency optimization, as well as the vision to challenge and improve our current system. This person must possess excellent skills in analysis, communication, organization, task management, and PC & Internet/Browser based systems.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge (technical skills, educational background, and required work experience):
? 3-5 years experience in route operations/SC logistics (delivery/pick-up, service, repair, etc.)
? 3-5 years experience utilizing route planning software (Roadnet Transportation Suite preferred) for Route Design & Service Frequency Optimization
? Understanding of Labor Demand/Capacity analysis, planning, and management
? Understanding of dynamic & static routing theory, routing logic and algorithms, and application of that knowledge to improve desired result
? MS Windows and MS Office proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
? Proficiency or ability to quickly learn Dreyer's systems
? Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Position Responsibilities:
? Perform fact-based, data driven analysis, and modeling on significant amounts of data across all distribution routes, for purposes of turning it into actionable information
o Analyze distribution system & expense to evaluate static and dynamic routing opportunities.
o Analyze historical service data, forecasted service demands, & labor headcount models to develop recommendations to improve labor demand/capacity management.
o Analyze distribution system and present findings & recommendations to promote an understanding of the costs, and drive cost reduction.
? Run “what if?” scenarios and planning sessions
o Use to determine the efficiency of our distribution system
o Plan for changes in sales & distribution structure of local markets
o Anticipate effects of seasonal fluctuations, new product lines, or acquisitions
o Double Application (night-routing) scenarios
o Balance workloads and match our resources with our needs, providing fair and predictable workdays for Delivery Agents, Presale Agents, Route Sales Reps and Merchandisers.
? Work directly with local Profit Center management (Sales, Delivery, and Distribution managers) to improve the distribution system through improved Route Design & Service Frequency Optimization
? Constantly monitor and analyze the distribution system to ensure it is optimized for changing customer demand and aligned with business goals
