| Mentor a Child, Change a Life! Giving a little of your time can change the life of an at-risk youth! The “I Have a Dream” Foundation-Los Angeles, est. in 1987, selects an entire 1st grade class at an underserved, inner-city school then supports these "Dreamers" for the next 12 years with an array of services and support, increasing their chances of high school graduation and opportunity for a college education. “I Have a Dream” then provides a scholarship to help the Dreamers attend college. One-on one mentoring is an essential part of the services we provide to our Dreamers. It brings together caring adults with at-risk youth who need an additional adult in their life to provide guidance and inspiration. Our mentoring program offers you: ~Flexibility~ ~Staff Support~ ~Training and In-Service opportunities throughout the year~ ~And the chance to befriend a child and have some fun!~ Qualifications Mentors must be at least 21 years old, have a valid California driver’s license and auto liability insurance, pass a background check and ?
