New Vistas provides sober living for men & women who have come to realize the importance of having a solid foundation in their recovery from addiction, substance abuse, and alcoholism. We offer a safe haven for men and women seeking a supportive environment in which to solidify, practice, and maintain new living skills that will help ensure a lasting recovery and sobriety. New Vistas provides a base from which residents can rebuild their lives, develop healthy behavior patterns and activities, and find peace. We believe the axiom that you can act yourself into right thinking and right feeling. Structure encourages residents to develop productive routines and to grow and utilize their tools for facing challenges without giving up. New Vistas' approach to sobriety balances structure and earned trust. As residents become more solid in their healthy and productive routines and choices, they enjoy more autonomy. This flexibility allows each resident's program to be tailored to his or her specific needs and to develop with each resident's increasing self-sufficiency. With semi-private (single-sex) rooms, residents learn accountability, trust, and mutual respect. Although New Vistas accepts both male and female residents, we strive to maintain such a level of respect, cooperation and positivity that all residents feel comfortable and safe. New Vistas has on-site male and female heads of household to help guide residents in making healthy choices and learning to take personal responsibility for their recovery. The living quarters are strictly separated by a large shared great room/kitchen and hallway, allowing men and women to learn healthy interaction through communal activities, but still maintaining privacy and personal space. The communal approach to living also promotes camaraderie and the sense of fun that is so important to enjoying a sober life. More Description |
