About Dan:

Hello, my name is Dan. I am a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and currently reside on the edge of Silver Lake and East Hollywood in Los Angeles. I have worked with students for six years now: in college, I worked with elementary school students to encourage writing in a group called Griffin's Tale and coached an improvisational comedy group. Since graduation, I have been interning with the not-for-profit writing enrichment and tutoring organization 826LA in Echo Park and working with the company Revolution Prep to tutor the SAT and SAT IIs. I also currently belong to an organization called Story Pirates which goes into elementary schools all over the greater Los Angeles area to teach writing and encourage creativity in kids.

My teaching style is disciplined, but fun. I understand that students are most engaged when they are enjoying themselves, but I also know when to get serious. I consider myself well-equipped to tackle most any topic. In addition to the subjects listed in my profile, I can also tutor in improvisation, stand-up comedy and college applications.
