Job Description:

One Heart Source is currently seeking an Accounting/Finance Director to oversee financial resources and accounting needs of the non-profit organization.

Position reports to the Executive Directors of the Board and will work closely with the US Operations Team.

The position is currently a volunteer internship position. Paid position is offered after 3 months depending on performance.

The ideal candidate is capable of carrying out leadership operations at all levels of the organization while maintaining an environment in which he/she is easily approachable.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing all account books for the organization.
• Working with directors to maintain oversight of the budget.
• Preparing official quarterly and annual financial reports to be made public for donors, contributors, and sponsors.
• Providing a monthly report to the Executive Directors.
• Maintaining strong communication with donors, contributors, and sponsors in order to meet primary goal of financial transparency.
• Working with US, UK, and Tanzanian Operations Team to ensure that financial aspects of all divisions are sound, and that efficient and effective use of resources are met.
• Providing necessary documentation to the Internal Revenue Services and California State Franchise Tax Board when required.

Job Requirements:

• Strong finance and accounting background. Non-profit experience is preferred, but not required.
• The ability to work well in a growth-oriented environment. Flexibility and the ability to work on all levels is essential.
• The ability to balance both effective leadership and teamwork skills. Can take self-direction and also work cohesively with directors and staff.
• Effective communication skills with staff, leadership team, donors, and partners.
• Strong desire to contribute to the mission and humanitarian efforts of the organization.
